2008年5月10日晚上由绿点·广州与香港地球之友联合主办的“平步青云讲坛”（Green Pathfinders Forum）系列活动第三讲“新能源、新动力、新科技、新一代”，在绿点·广州、广东工业大学绿色青年志愿者协会、绿色行动环保协会以及各方的共同努力下完美谢幕。由被誉为民间绿色播种人、社会活动毅行者、环保“花木兰”的吴方笑薇女士和香港大学环境工程系梁耀彰教授为到场的大学生和绿色追梦者奉献了一场精彩的讲坛。
May 10th 2008, the Green Pathfinders Forum, a green career lecture series jointly organized by Green Point•Guangzhou and Friends of the Earth (HK), staged the third chat show titled “New energy, New power, New technology, and New generation.” It was a huge success through the joint efforts of Green Point•Guangzhou, Green Youth Pioneer Association and Green Movement Environmental Protection Association of Guangdong University of Technology. Two guests were invited; they were Mrs. Mei Ng, UN Global 500 Laureate, veteran environmental advocator, and Professor Dennis Leung (梁耀彰), an esteemed environmental and technological engineer from the Hong Kong University. Their energy dialogue inspired the 350 youth green pathfinders in attendance.
首先，一位现场的学生与吴方老师进行了一段主题为“微笑！Welcome to Guangzhou”绿色亚运生态导游情景表达训练。一位背着背包、带着帽子，再佩戴上一副太阳眼睛的外来游客闯进了现场,"Where am I, I come from New York,I got lost."，原来是吴方老师扮演外国游客，现场的一位学生立刻向前提供帮忙，随后，学生扮演游客，吴方老师扮演生态导游，吴方老师运用手势、友善的面部表情为这位“游客”引路，两人的即兴表演令现场的观众都活跃起来。据悉，持续十期的平步青云讲坛中的酷英语一环节将正式启动以“微笑！Welcome to Guangzhou”为主题，将青年——环保——英语——亚运相结合的一系列生动活泼的活动，筹建一支高素质的绿色亚运志愿者团队。
Cool English kicked off the evening event. A student volunteer and Mrs. Mei Ng presented a short drama to demonstrate the art of city tourist guiding. “Smile! Welcome to Guangzhou”. A foreign traveler came into the hall unexpectedly. She carried a backpack, a sunhat on her head and wore a large pair of black sunglasses. “Where am I? I come from New York, I got lost.” It turned out that the unexpected guest was role-played by Mrs. Mei Ng. A student went forward and offered the lost friend some help and direction. Afterwards, the two exchanged their roles, the student acted as the traveler, and Mrs. Mei Ng became the guide. Mrs. Mei Ng gave the tourist some helpful advice aided by hand gestures and animated facial expressions. Their improvised performance enthused the students and livened up the lecture hall. With the aim to train high quality green volunteers for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, the Green Pathfinders Forum organizers decided to continue the theme of youth-environment-English-Asian-Games for the successive green career lectures in the coming months.

接下来吴方老师作为讲坛的特邀主持人访问了香港大学环境工程系梁耀彰教授，吴方老师和梁教授围绕“新能源、新动力、新科技、新一代”的主题畅谈环保创新；梁教授建议广州可以多利用新型能源，如太阳能、风能等，梁教授在香港曾参加多届太阳能车比赛，他希望尽快在广州看到自制的太阳能车的身影。另外，他提到收集饮食废油、地沟油等循环再用，提炼成的生物柴油，可以替代现在高污染的柴油，香港大学目前正在研究该项目的利用与推广。梁教授希望搭桥香港大学跟广卅高校联系的平台，将来共同搞活动、互访和科研。大学生们也对自己未来的毕业与就业有了更明确、更清晰的认识。
In the next session, Mrs. Mei Ng hosted the green chat with Professor Dennis Leung, who teaches at the Environmental Engineering Department of the Hong Kong University. They had a lively discussion about environmental innovation on the topic of “New energy, New power, New technology, and New generation”. Professor Leung recommended that the Guangzhou government should make more use of new source of energy like solar energy, wind energy and so on. He hoped DIY solar vehicles would soon be seen in Guangzhou since he had attended several solar cart competitions in Hong Kong. What’s more, Professor Leung highlighted the distillation and recycle of waste oil, which can replace the seriously polluted diesel oil. He briefly introduced his research at the Hong Kong University on the feasibility and application of wind and wave energy. Professor Leung also expressed his wish for increasing the contact between universities in Guangzhou and Hong Kong University, including cooperation on scientific researches and exchange visits. The audience welcomed this link and mutual learning opportunity.

最后进入模拟面试环节——模拟香港大学研究生入学面试，梁教授表示，香港大学环境工程系70%的学生是来自大陆，同时，有意愿考香港大学的学生需要加强英语能力锻炼，因为无论在入学面试中还是在平时的学术研究中，老师与学生间的沟通都是使用英语。
The last part is the Mock Admission Interview——interview of postgraduate applicants for further studies at the Hong Kong University (HKU). Professor Leung said that 70% of the students in Environmental Engineering Department came from the mainland. Meanwhile, he also emphasized the importance of English proficiency, since the teachers at the Hong Kong University always communicate with the students in English, no matter in admission interviews or in routine academic research. Professor Leung said the key of success to win the heart of the interviewer is to show total eagerness to gain admission to HKU. Question time followed. Students asked about future green career opportunities. They are also keen to host the Solar Car Design Competition in Guangzhou University City.

2007年10月开始，由绿点·广州、香港地球之友联合发起的「平步青云讲坛」（Green Pathfinders Forum）将在广州市各所大学展开，旨在为各行业知名企业家、社会活动家和大学生搭建一个交流平台，通过定期的穗港两地环保经验交流和能力培训，帮助有志投身环保事业的年轻人认清目标，建立自信，自助自强。
“绿点·广州”是一个包含广东省近40个大学生环保社团的民间环保组织。“绿点·广州”致力于推动全社会环保工作，重点引导大学生环保志愿者开展活动，促成更多的环保新生力量。香港「地球之友」於１９８３年注册成为民间慈善环保组织。 其使命： 关注本地和区域的环境保护，与政府商界和社会人士合作，推动可持续发展的政策、企业责任和生活方式。
The Green Pathfinders Forum (GPF), The Green Pathfinders Forum aims to inspire young people about Green-Career-Green-Vision through experience and vision sharing with community leaders and experts.
Through dialogue with green leaders, thousands of green career aspirants will be enlightened. Through green English debates and mock job interviews, thousands of budding environmental job seekers will be empowered. It is about China youth empowerment. It is about investing in the future of a Greener China.
The Organizers
Green Pathfinders Forum is a green youth empowerment program co-organized by Greenpoint Guangzhou and Friends of the Earth (HK). Guangzhou universities take turn to host the event on their campuses. The audience are mostly first, second and third year students.
Green Point·Guangzhou focuses on promoting the social environmental consciousness, especially leading the undergraduate volunteers to operate activities in the campus and cultivating more youth to concern with the natural environment.
Friends of the Earth (HK) is a registered environmental charity in Hong Kong since 1983. It’s mission: “Friends of the Earth (HK) is dedicated to protecting the environment locally and regionally by engaging government, business and society in promoting solutions to create environmentally sustainable public policies, business practices and lifestyles."
